For the first time in her life Ruby went somewhere that I didn't put her. I don't know how she did it, but when I woke up this morning I found her wedged up against the top of her crib. I can't imagine that she could have rolled, because she would have first gone from her back to her front, then back to her back again to get where she was. She must have inch-wormed her way up there sideways.
I don't know why it startled me so much, but my first instinct was that she was dead, because of course she can't breathe as well when she isn't perfectly centered parallel to the rails in the middle of her crib. Right after I checked her breathing to make sure she was alive I got the camera and took a picture of this momentous occasion.

I wonder where she'll be when I wake up tomorrow morning!

The first time each of our four kids slept through the night, my first thought upon wakening is that they must be dead! Glad I am not the only one who has ever had that panicky moment.

"My first instinct was that she was dead." I'm afraid that is going to be your first instinct many times: the first time she falls and hits her head, the first time she wanders briefly out of your line of sight at the grocery, the first time she comes home late from curfew, the first time she doesn't call for more than a week after moving to Hope College, etc. Such is the life of a Mommy.

'i was pretty sure she was dead...' haha. you're crazy.

one time i walked in to colts room and didn't see him, found andy and andy's wasn't holding him and thought he had been kidnapped!

but he was just tucked in a little under his blanket. then i freaked out that he wasn't breathing being under a blanket and all. BUT, he was breathing. I didn't take a picture though, I yelled at Andy for doing a bad 'swaddle' job and letting the blanket unwrap. AND...longest comment ever. You're baby is cute.
