Tide - Loads of Hope

I saw this yesterday and thought it was such a cool idea! I guess that in the aftermath of Katrina, Tide had a "mobile laudrymat" that drove around helping people get a "clean start" Now, they are partnering with another organization to help build 10 houses for 10 more families in need.

  • The Tide CleanStart mobile laundry facility
    • Contains 32 high-efficiency washers and dryers
    • Can wash and dry approximately 10,000 free loads of laundry over a four week period
    • Can do about 300 wash and dry cycles a day — equal to one year's worth of laundry for a single family
How you can help:

Tide wants to help. So we've teamed up with The St. Bernard Project, a grassroots organization in the area, to help rebuild 10 houses for 10 families in New Orleans. To help fund this exciting effort, we've created Tide special-edition vintage tees - so you can contribute, too! For only $10, you can give "Loads of Hope" to these families.

The Tide special-edition vintage tees sport the traditional Tide bull's-eye on the front, with soft cotton fabric and a retro look. "Loads of Hope" is printed on the back, so you can keep the meaning of this shirt with you. To join this building effort, you can order online today. And stay tuned for more news on Tide's progress in St. Bernard Parish. Together we can help rebuild a neighborhood in need.

the price must have gone up because they're asking $15 for a shirt ... I went to the site hoping to buy a shirt & chip in but the site is "down" and they're taking names & emails.
