Ruby is one of the most caring and compassionate people I know. She is an incredibly gifted teacher, and volunteering this year away from her classroom in Elkhart is quite a big deal. Ruby is a giver. For years she has given many hours a week volunteering with the youth at GCC. She has given weeks every summer as a counselor at Camp Adventure, and has been a full-time teacher on top of that! I am amazed and inspired by her life.

Easter Day

While many families across the nation were having easter-egg hunts and pot-luck dinners, we were out in the woods unloading a few rounds from the glock.

Easter is about Jesus

Peeps, jelly beans, lillys, chocolate...
What does this season make you think of? It makes me think of LIFE! I think it makes a lot of sense that Easter and Spring go hand-in-hand. Spring is my favorite season, other than summer...because everything comes back to life. Everything is blooming, trees are blossoming, grass is turning green again, birds are chirping, warm breezes are blowing, and I can't help but think about Jesus when spring is in the air. God sent His Son to give us life. Jesus gave his life so that we could live...then He rose again! Awesome!

When I was growing up my mom's incredible gardens would attract a multitude of rabbits.

We had a 4 or 5 year run where each spring my brother Aaron would rescue a tiny bunny from the clenched jaws of our Kitty, and we would slowly nurse it back to health by feeding it through an eyedropper. We always thought of really great names for our bunnies; Hopper, Skipper, Jumper, Hoppy, Skippy, Jumpy...you know, really great names.

I remember collecting lettuce from the garden...because the little bunnies wouldn't eat the kind from the grocery. Inevitably the little bunnies would gain enough stamina to escape our grip and would typically end up hiding under Angela's dresser. This was a sign to mom and dad that the bunnies were healthy enough to set free, so the whole family would get in the van and drive somewhere into the woods. Dad would always find a tree or a fence with a "No Hunting" or "No Trespassing" sign on it, to ensure that our bunny would be safe if we let it go there.

Where am I going with this story??

...It's a story about bunnies! It's Easter!

But seriously folks, Easter is not about bunnies. It's about Jesus.

Coyote visits Quizno's in Chicago

CHICAGO, April 4 (UPI) -- Customers and employees at a sandwich shop in downtown Chicago were surprised by a docile coyote that wandered into the store through a propped-open door.

Quiznos shop manager Bina Patel said customers quietly evacuated the restaurant and Animal Care and Control officials picked up the year-old animal about an hour after it arrived in the store Tuesday, The Chicago Tribune reported.

"It was kind of like a medium-sized dog," Patel said. "At first, we thought it was a dog. We don't get dogs walking in but it's more believable than a coyote." Animal control officials said the coyote, which did not eat anything or harm anyone at the shop, may have been attracted by the smell of small rodents, rabbits or trash, the Tribune said.

Anne Kent, director of Animal Care and Control, told the newspaper an average of 10 to 15 coyotes is captured each year in Chicago. Most are found during April and May when the animals are most active.

My question is: WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE SMALL RODENTS AND RABBITS DOING AT QUIZNO'S?

Aunt Becky Graces the Pages of TIME Magazine

"There weren't networks," says Becky Hunter, 55, wife of the well-known pastor Joel Hunter of Orlando-based Northland, a Church Distributed. "There were denominational groups and retreat-type things." The Web, she says, offers more immediate and constant support.
